Demise of my Marsh Dock – but the plant lives on

Back in May we planted a few seeds of the rather special Marsh Dock at the edge of the new pond.

The seedlings grew for a while but now all have disappeared – the edge of our pond seems to have been too tough a place for them to survive.

However….

We also potted one seedling up and in the more stable and secure environment provided by a pot it seems to be thriving (below).

In this case our normal sink-or-swim philosophy didn’t work – at least not this time. So here’s a plant that looks like it will probably need a little tlc to get established in our pond.
