They’re getting together in their favourite places – the very shallowest areas, a centimetre or so deep – as soon as it gets a bit warmer in the day.

My tadpoles are all hatched now and spreading out around the pond.

With eight or nine clumps, each with 1000 to 2000 eggs, there’s probably around 10,000 tadpoles in the pond.

Here’s a big group in the middle shallow area of the pond – the water they’re congregating in is about one centimetre deep.
