
My tadpoles are all hatched now and spreading out around the pond.

With eight or nine clumps, each with 1000 to 2000 eggs, there’s probably around 10,000 tadpoles in the pond.
Here’s a big group in the middle shallow area of the pond – the water they’re congregating in is about one centimetre deep.

For the first time we have seen a blackbird perching on the pond plants and taking tadpoles. Never seen tghis before and we have had the pond for many years. Is this common?
